Christmas

I had a great Christmas!! On Dec. 20th, I went to see santa claus. We waited in line for an hour so that I could sit on his lap and as soon as I was done, I crashed and fell asleep! On Christmas eve, we went to aunt annmarie's new house and hung out with the pansini crew. It was fun. I wore my Beautiful Christmas gown. I was the prettiest girl there. I hadn't taken a nap all day, so when grandma, grandpa, and my uncles came over to our house afterwards to open presents, I was asleep. Daddy knew I wouldn't want to miss it, though, so he woke me up. I'm glad he did, b/c I got to open my presents and my favorite one was Tickle me Elmo!!! He is so funny! But when I tickle him, his arm moves up and down and that really concerns me so I try to hold it still.

Christmas day I didn't feel my best. I stayed in my Christmas jammies all day long. We went to cousin Heather's house and I played a little bit, but otherwise I just sat on everyone's lap. That night mommy and daddy let me open up the presents in my stocking. I got a bunch of crayons, markers, and even a pad to draw on!!! Woot! I drew mommy and daddy a beautiful picture with a bunch of different colors. I'm very talented.

The day after Christmas mommy wanted to go to crate and barrel for their annual christmas sale. I was not happy. It was extremely cold and rainy and we had to wait in line for a long time to get to check out (2 hours). I let mommy have it. I didn't feel well bc all these teeth are poking through my gums, and I have that stupid eye infection again. ugh.

My pa-pa Mike and stepgrandma angie are coming to visit me this weekend. I'm so excited I can't wait. I know that they are going to bring me bunhes of toys too!!! yay!

I am having teething issues. Daddy went to put some ambesol on my gums yesterday and he says that he felt at least 5 new teeths coming in! I haven't been eating very well lately, and mommy has been getting very worried. So tonight while mommy was at class I ate a ton of vegetables and even ate some of mommy's food off of her plate when she got home.

I've been having attitude lately with daddy. Sometimes I like to smack him and head butt him. Mommy and daddy don't know what to do about this. I think it's just because my toofers hurt, and sometimes b/c daddy likes to pick on me...maybe he'll learn his lesson.

It's been awhile....

Mommy is a very busy mommy, so I haven't been able to write in here much lately. Let me fill you in on my life in the last 6 months!

In August, I turned one!!! Mommy and Daddy threw me a big party (theme: polka dots). My grandpa Mike and step-grandma Angie even drove down to be here for my big bash. I ton of my family came to celebrate and everyone brought me awesome presents. Daddy made me my own smash cake and I was a little reluctant at first to dig in to it, but after a little coaxing-I smashed the heck out of it. I even rubbed it all over my hair, face, and ears! :D

Mommy watches another little boy besides Logan now. His name is Matthew and he is very handsome! He is 2 months older than me and he came to my party too.

For Halloween this year, I was a lady bug. A very cute one at that. My buddy Logan and I went to crabtree valley mall to go trick or treating, and I had my first dum dum lollipop!!! yay!!

For Thanksgiving, my grandma Cindy, uncle Jeremy, and Aunt Linda came down to visit us. It was a great thanksgiving, both of my grandmas were at my house!!! So much fun. November 11th was the first day that I finally took my first steps!!! Daddy was here to see it too. A few days later, on Nov. 18th, we went to visit Grandaddy in Kinston, NC and I walked a bunch there! Here at home I do it once in awhile, only when I feel the need.

We have our Christmas tree put up now, and I am so happy! I love looking at the lights and saying "tree" and "light." I can say quite a few words now....here is a list of some of them:

june 6th- Kaitlyne pulled up to a standing position by holding on to her daddy!! This is the first time that she's pulled up to something (or someone) before. yay kay-wins.

May 27- Steve, Debbie and Matt came over to help me clean up Kaitlyne's room. Kaitlyne was very good all day long, and she keeps saying mamamamamama all the time until I pick her up :) That's the best feeling in the world. I was cleaning up in the kitchen, and she kept saying it until I picked her up. We came in the living room and sat down on the couch and she went right to sleep. Later on, Emily and Logan came over to meet us and Kaitlyne was a little weary of Logan because he's crawling around really fast and he pulls up to things as well. he fell over and bumped her a little bit and she started crying really hard-she was just really tired and I think that he startled her a little bit. After they left and Michael came home, Kaitlyne fell asleep while I was holding her on the couch, and I was tired too, so we just laid together on the couch and relaxed and took a little nap.

May 26- Kaitlyne chased the cats today. It seems like she just goes after Hershey and sometimes Twix. She'll crawl after them and pull their hair and tails...it's hilarious. Hershey just walks away from her, it's really funny. She was crawling after Hershey, and she said HEY-DEH....it sounded just like "Hey there!" She's so cute! :)

May 23- we took kaitlyne to the doctor today for her 9 month checkup. She weighs 20 1/4 lbs. and is 27 1/2 inches long. The doctor said that she looked great and said that we have done a great job as parents :) Of course that made Michael and I feel really good! The Dr. said that Kaitlyne could start eating table foods even though she doesn't have any teeth yet. So, for lunch we cut up some mac and cheese and she had a couple bites...mostly for practice :) She is sooo cute! Tonight we let her crawl around on the kitchen floor and we gave her a plastic bowl to play with...she proceeded to pick it up with her feet and transfer it to her hands!!!

May 22- kaitlyne played on the floor a lot today and wanted me to hold her a lot. I held her while she took a really long nap until daddy came home :)

May 21- Michael and I went to Barnes and Noble tonight to look at some photography books. We put Kaitlyne in the stroller and she started running her mouth back and forth on the cup holder part...can you say "teething!" It was so cute though! She was making noises and just shaking her little head back and forth.

updates

May 5-May 18: in Illinois visiting family. Grandma Cindy can really make me laugh! She says funny things and drops my toys and I think it's hilarious. On May 16, she taught me how to shake my head no...every time she would shake her head no, I would too. May 17 I learned how to do the "Indian." My Great Grandma Sharon had been trying to teach me, and finally on my 9 month old birthday I let my great great aunt Melbourine pat my mouth while I made noise! Now, anytime anyone pats my mouth I like to do the Indian! May 18, mommy and I flew back to Raleigh on an airplane. I slept through both flights and was a very good baby :)

My grand entrance

Hello everyone. My name is Kaitlyne Marie, and in 10 days I will be 7 months old! Wow, it doesn't seem like a long time to my mommy and daddy, but it's seemed like forever to me :) Since this is the first entry in my new blog, I will tell a little bit about myself. As I said, I am nearly 7 months old, and I of course live at home in Raleigh with my mommy, daddy, and my daddy's four cats: Shittles, Twix, Cookie, and Hershey. They are alright I guess...I really like Twix, he makes me giggle.

My daddy is a manager at Dillard's, and my mommy stays at home with me and is taking online classes full time. I really like rolling around on the floor; sometimes when my parents turn their heads for a second-I roll clear across the room!! I love it when someone reads a book to me, my current favorite is, "But Not the Hippopotamus" by Sandra Boynton. I always try to help turn the pages when someone is reading me a story.

When my mommy was working part time, my Grandma Debbie would come over and watch me. Sometimes my Grandpa Steve would come over for a little while after he got off of work, and sometimes my uncle Matt would come too! I like to play with Uncle Matt, and I don't like it when he walks away. I try to take his hat off too! I see my uncle Steven on holidays sometimes when he isn't busy with school and work, it's hard to be a college student.

My other Grandma and Grandpa live kindof far away, in Illinois. I really like to visit them, though, and I hope we can go visit again sometime soon. My Grandma Cindy gave me baths in the sink when I visited last time! My uncle Jeremy played with me and read me books too. Grandpa Mike and Step-Grandma Angie have came to visit me here in NC, and I saw them when I took my first airplane trip to Illinois, too. When mommy and I took an airplane trip to Illinois in November of last year, I was able to meet all of my family there, and a lot of my mommy's friends. It was very fun, but sooo cooollllddd! I saw this powdery white stuff all over the ground outside and on the tree branches! Mommy said it was snow. I liked sleeping on my grandma Cindy's lap, we had a good time. I went shopping with my great aunt Earlene and my great-grandma Sharon (I like to talk to her). Even my Great Uncle Dewayne drove down from Iowa to see me while we were there! I also got to meet my grandma's best friend, Linda, I liked talking to her too. They all said how I was such a great baby!!!

My favorite food (besides mommy's milk) is green beans!!! They are very delicious. I wasn't sure of them at first, but when daddy let me have a bite, I loved it! The first few times daddy fed me baby food, I got quite a bit of it on my face, but now I'm a pro, and I don't hardly get any on my face. However, when I'm done eating, I may just spit some of the food back out to let mommy and daddy know that I don't want any more. My favorite thing to do right now is play in my exersaucer and I always try to watch TV. Mommy and daddy have to turn the TV off while I'm eating, otherwise I won't pay attention to the food.
I am very excited that spring and summer are coming, I already have a lot of cute dresses, and even some sunglasses to wear when I go outside. Well, that's all for today!!
